Schedule change in effect
Texas reinstated the 2021 controlled-substance definitions. DSHS says only naturally occurring trace amounts of delta-8 are permissible.

Federal definition change scheduled
Federal law changed the hemp definition. Its new limits are scheduled to take effect November 12, 2026. Delay bills have been introduced but are not enacted.
