Tell Congress to Support Smart Regulation & Protect Consumer Access to Hemp Products
Congress is moving forward with funding packages, and hidden inside is a dangerous provision that would devastate the hemp industry nationwide.
What's at Stake
Section 759 of the House FY26 Agriculture–FDA Appropriations bill (part of the MilCon-VA, Ag, Leg. Branch minibus) would:
- Redefine hemp in a way that invalidates the compliant genetics developed under the 2018 Farm Bill.
- Ban hemp products already legal under robust state-regulated programs.
- Jeopardize U.S. farmers by eliminating the strongest end market for their crop.
- Threaten over 300,000 jobs across America.
This language isn't about safety—it's about shutting down a thriving, tax-paying industry. Farmers, manufacturers, retailers, and regulators all oppose Section 759.
Why This Matters
Congress has had years to address FDA's failure to regulate hemp. Instead of solving the problem, a few lawmakers are trying to eliminate the industry altogether.
If Section 759 becomes law, businesses will close, products people rely on will disappear, and American farmers will be left behind.
